Primary Election Day.
This is a Primary election so you will need to request your ballot by Party affiliation (Republican, Democratic, Green Party) or to request a Nonpartisan ballot (referendum questions - no candidates). - January 14 to 31, 2008
Absentee/Early voting at Village Hall, Will County Clerk's office, and other locations.
No Absentee/Early voting will take place on 1/19 or 1/21. (See Absentee/Early voting below.) - January 9 to 22, 2008
Grace Period voter registration/change of address/voting in the office of Will County Clerk. (See Grace Period below.) - January 8, 2008

Your voter registration card lists your particular districts. Most, but not necessarily all, Homer Glen residents reside within the following voting districts:
Who can register to vote?
To register to vote you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and have been a resident of your precinct address for a minimum of 30 days immediately prior to the next election.
When can I register to vote?
Registration is open throughout the year except during the 27 days immediately preceding an election. This allows voter files to be prepared for the election.

Where can you register to vote?
Homer Glen residents can register to vote at Village Hall Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Residents of Homer Glen may also register at the Homer Township Administration Center and at the Homer Township Library or at the Will County Clerk's office, 302 North Chicago Street, Joliet (815)740-4620.
What forms of identification will I need?
You will need two forms of identification when you register to vote. At least one of the two forms of identification must show your name and current address. Only one form of identification may be a piece of mail addressed and delivered to you. The second form must show your name.

How will I receive my voter's registration card?
Your voter's registration card will be mailed directly to your place of residence from the Will County Clerk's office. You can verify your voter registration status online at the County Clerk's Voter Registration page:

Where do I vote? (Polling Places)
Your voter registration card lists your precinct number. The precinct number determines your voting location, or "polling place". The most current listing of polling places is available at the Will County Clerk's website.
Absentee/Early/Grace Period Voting
The following is an overview of Absentee/Early/Grace Period voting. Specific information can be obtained by calling the Will County Clerk?s office at 815-740-4632, or visiting the Will County Clerk?s website.
- The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, January 8th, 2008.
- This is a Primary election so you will need to request your ballot by Party affiliation (Republican, Democratic, Green Party) or request a Nonpartisan ballot (referendum questions-no candidates).
- If you are unable to get to the polls on election day, Absentee ballots can be requested by calling the County Clerk?s office or visiting the website. The last day to request an absentee ballot is January 31, 2008.
- Absentee/Early voting starts January 14th and ends January 31st, 2008. You may vote during this time without having a reason. Absentee/Early voting is being conducted at the Will County Clerk?s Office, 302 North Chicago Street in Joliet, or at other available sites throughout the County, including Homer Glen Village Hall. (The County Clerk?s office and available Early voting sites will not conduct Early voting on January 19, 2008 and January 21, 2008.)
- Grace Period Voting is available for anyone who did not register or did not change his or her address before the close of registration. You must go to the Will County Clerk?s office during this period and register to vote or change your address and vote at the same time. "Grace Period" individuals must also vote at the same time. They may not vote at the polls on Election Day. Grace Period Voting is from January 9th through January 22nd, 2008.
