Mayor Russ Petrizzo and other village officials joined with representatives of Menards and Weis Builders to celebrate the breaking of ground for the new Menards store in Homer Glen. The groundbreaking was held on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Menards entrance on Bell Road north of 143rd Street (just north of Homer Town Square shopping center). Michelle Menard was present to represent Menards.
The Menards building will be approximately 210,000 square feet in size and will be the largest individual commercial building in Homer Glen as well as one of the largest stores built by Menards. Menards will be a very important addition to the community both for the services it will provide to our residents and the additional tax base the store will bring to Homer Glen. Menards plans to be open for business this Spring of 2005.
