The Zoning Ordinance was amended in October 2006.
It is important that you contact the Building Department prior to the installation of fences, landscape walls, hedges and other landscape screening for permit requirements, to determine setbacks and easements that may apply.
Before installation of fences, landscape walls, hedges and other landscape screening, it is also strongly recommended that you:
- Verify your property lines.
- Contact J.U.L.I.E. before digging.
- Contact your homeowners' association for potential restrictions and standards that may apply to your particular subdivision.

Contractors are required to register directly with the Homer Glen Building Department.
